The Registration Board for Engineering & Technical Staff.


The Registration Board for Engineering and Technology RBETS® , hereafter called The Board, is primarily responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and certifying the quality of engineering-related and technical education and training competence in the region.

RBETS®  plans to develop accreditation policies and criteria and conducts a comprehensive program of evaluation of  degree-level and technical programs. Programs that meet the prescribed criteria are granted accredited status.

RBETS®  participates in general areas of higher education, especially those that impact on the engineering-related and technical profession.

RBETS®  initiates and sponsors studies, conferences, and seminars, and co-sponsor projects in cooperation with organizations with common interests.

WHY BECOME A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN.

As is now mandatory in the  international arena, more and more local and regional practitioners require a license  to perform engineering and technical activities.  Some companies have legislations that virtually prohibits non-licensed personnel from private practice.

Most international organization also require a license to perform consulting engineering and technical work. Additionally, the recognition of  your peers, the ability to serve the public and the increase earnings are just some of the reasons to become a registered professional technician.

HOW  DO YOU  BECOME REGISTERED & LICENSED?

To obtain your license, you must first pass the relevant examinations as detailed in the handbook.  After some experience, you must then take the  local/regional examinations which are typically held in January, March, June, September & December of each year at centers throughout the region.
